*The National Center on Accessibility does not sell, promote or endorse any products. For your convenience, we have compiled this information to be used as a resource. Products listed may or may not meet accessibility standards or recommendations. It is important to check design specifications of products. This list is not comprehensive. For more detailed information, please contact the NCA at (812) 856-4422 Voice, (812) 856-4421 TTY or nca@indiana.edu.

Products which are common to the building trades industry, such as grab bars and door hardware, will not be included on the NCA web site. Instead, professionals in search of such products may refer to the Sweet’s Product Directory, available online at http://sweets.construction.com. Sweet’s is a McGraw-Hill Company widely known as a quality product resource for builders and construction companies. The Sweet’s Product Directory is a searchable database of common building products and materials.

The National Center on Accessibility assumes no responsibility or liability related to the products, services and vendors listed. The listing of a product does not guarantee its accessibility, usability or appropriateness to specific facility applications. Buyers must be sure to compare products of their interest with the applicable accessibility guidelines.

Criteria for listing in the NCA Products Directory
  • Products should encourage independent and dignified use.
  • Products must have use in a park, recreation or tourism setting.
  • When installed and maintained correctly, products must meet the related federal accessibility guidelines.
  • A 212 x 212 and a 100 x 100 jpeg must be provided for the listing.
  • Permission for the listing must be granted by the company.
  • The listing is currently free and may be updated once annually. However, NCA reserves the right to charge for any requested updates (aside from new product additions) beyond the one free annual update.
  • Product descriptions using person-first terminology and product designs utilizing the principles of universal design are encouraged. NCA reserves the right to deny any listing if language and/or terminology is inappropriate or offensive.
  • Companies with numerous models of the same type of product (picnic tables, benches, etc) will be identified in that category under a general product description. (Including and maintaining all models of one type of product is extremely time intensive for NCA staff.)
  • When appropriate, the manufacturer of the product(s) will be the contact listed to avoid listing multiple vendors for one product.
  • Companies are encouraged to include approximate costs and product specifications in the product description.
  • The company and the public are informed that the National Center on Accessibility does not promote or endorse any product or manufacturer and that the product directory is maintained for informational purposes only.
  • NCA reserves the right to deny listing any company or product that
    • does not meet minimum accessibility guidelines;
    • is not independently operable;
    • is not conducive to dignified use; or
    • is not related to parks, recreation or tourism.
  • Additionally, NCA reserves the right to deny listing any company or product at its discretion.
